Gobble till you wobble!

Nathan and I enjoyed our 4th Thanksgiving together this year by....
having chocolate milk and homemade doughnuts for breakfast...
playing games and watching movies together all day long...
cooking our cute little 6lb turkey...
stuffing our faces with good food....
using our big muscles to prepare the food...
and devouring every bit of our delectable meal!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We are thankful for YOU!

P.S. Yes, the cats did receive their traditional Thanksgiving dinner, too (i.e. Fancy Feast). And no, they did not eat at the table with us. However, Atticus did think he was the centerpiece!

In my shoes.

Kari: Do these shoes match?
Nathan: No, you should wear the brown ones.
Kari: But I'm not wearing any brown...
Nathan: Your hair is brown.

online {"window"} shopping

Sometimes I like to go online to all my favorite stores and click"add to cart" whenever I see something that I want. I like to make myself believe that I have actually bought those items. A few days later, I will go back to the websites and click "empty cart." It's a little mind game I play with myself. ;)
Here are some things I think are cute:

paired with these shoes (both from buckle.com)....

...and...

these jeans...
and these boots, too...
(I could add MANY more items; this is just a small sampling of things I like!)

Buuuuut....those are all wants and not needs. I want to need those things, though. Does that count? More than wanting any of those cute clothes, however, the #1 item on my wish list is still that amazing head scratcher thing.

Inside my brain.

I think I have a really bizarre mind. Sometimes I just think and think about the strangest things. I remember one time in middle school a teacher called me a worry-wort. I responded, "I'm not worrying; I'm just wondering--I'm wonderful!" Anyway, I thought you might just like a little peek inside my crazy brain. Perhaps, even, you have a thoughtful tidbit you could share to answer/discuss some of my many wonders...

Weird Wonder #1:
What's up with eggs? Seriously, could there be any other food that is so versatile? How is a boiled egg, an Easter egg, a scrambled egg, a sunny-side-up egg, an egg that you put in brownies/cakes/other treats, an egg in eggnog, an egg that comes out a chicken, and an egg that makes a chicken all be the same simple egg??!!
Scrambled eggs do not taste like brownies. Eggnog does not taste like chicken. I just don't get eggs.

Weird Wonder #2:
Who decided to group counting into groups of 10? After 10, it's just the same thing over and over again. 11 is just like 1 and 12 is just like 2; 100 is like 1 and 200 is like 2, and so on and so on.
Also, if that's the way we count, then why isn't it like that with time? Why is a minute 60 seconds? I think it should be 100. I think that would sound better. Don't you?

Weird Wonder #3:
Is money even real? Seriously, I rarely ever have cold, hard cash in my hands. All of my finances are done online.
I get my paycheck, it goes into the bank, I look at the money online, then I go to all the various websites I pay bills at, click pay bill, and then all the money is gone. It's like a computer game. It's just numbers on a computer screen.

Weird Wonder #4:
Do little babies still remember heaven? I believe that babies truly are heaven-sent. I believe<--click! that we live in Heaven with God (therefore, our Heavenly Father<--click!) before we are born. When we come to Earth, we forget that but it is our mission to remember and head back home to our Father in Heaven. So, do you think babies still remember and just slowly forget?
I heard somebody say this once: "Babies are so wiggly because their spirits are too big for their bodies." ;) I thought that was cute. But seriously, sometimes I think that babies and even little children can still remember living with God before they were born.

Weird Wonder #5:
I am amazed by technology. I can sit here on my couch and talk to somebody in a different country via my laptop. My laptop is not plugged into anything.
Why is there not a big long cord connecting my computer to another computer in a different country? It's like the Internet is...invisible.

Well, how'd you like your little tour through my crazy mind? Were you able to find your way out? Did I initiate some thought-provoking questions in your mind...
or do you just think I'm crazy?

Identity Crisis

This picture freaks me out.

When did my sweet little baby sister stop looking like that? Since when is she a little preteen with a cell phone and a Myspace? Why isn't she in 1st grade making a project about a platypus anymore? And when did I all the sudden become an adult with a marriage and mortgage? Since when am I a college graduate with a real life job----a career?! Why is 22 the new 40? I feel old. I feel weird. I LOVE my life (truly!), but I think I am having an identity crisis.

A striking resemblance...PART TWO

Remember when I thought I looked like Mowgli? Well, I have a new cartoon celebrity twin. Here's a picture of me being hyper on a boating trip in August:
And here's a picture of my new twin....

Keeping up with the Jones'

Nathan and I had a fantastic weekend visiting our friends Logan and Kelsey Jones in Highland, Utah. We stayed at Kelsey's parents' beautiful home, and we even had our own bedroom with a private bathroom. I felt like I was in a hotel. ;)
We woke up at 6:30 Saturday morning (even though, it is against my personal code of ethics to wake up that early on a Saturday) and we went out to eat at this darling little breakfast cafe. They had this amazing, thick, soft French toast that was so delicious. And guess what? They came around and gave you extra slices of the French toast...for free. After breakfast, we drove about half an hour to Salt Lake City to attend the temple. It was really neat because Nathan and I just taught a lesson about the Salt Lake temple about 3 weeks ago. The temple is absolutely stunning; it amazes me the care, faith, and sacrifice that went into the 40 years of building that magnificent temple. Unfortunately, we left the camera in the car and didn't get any pictures in front of the temple. :( After the temple, we totally splurged and went to Lagoon (an amusement park) for the day.

We had a blast! Nathan and I have never been to an amusement park together before. ::Please insert pity here that we have not yet been to Disneyland together:: We went on so many thrilling roller coasters and other fun rides. My favorite was a roller coaster called Wicked. It had a 110 ft. high drop and went 55 mph. We also went on a ride called the Samurai, and Kelsey fell out as she was trying to get out of the ride. Everybody applauded for her; it was really funny. There were also a lot of Halloween festivities going on, so that was fun, too. Honestly, I cannot remember the last time I had such an action-packed and genuinely fun weekend. On Sunday, Kelsey's mom made us breakfast and we went to church. This Korean kid gave a very entertaining farewell talk (he'll be leaving on a mission to California, Korean speaking). He said something along the lines: "I used to only care about escaping the tyrannical reign of my parents, but now I feel ready and excited to serve a mission." The whole ward was cracking up. After church, we drove out to a property where Kelsey and Logan want to build their next home. It has a gorgeous view. Next, we went home and had lunch with Kelsey's parents. It was delicious, of course. ;) Kelsey's dad also made some amazing chocolate chip cookies. He even made a special one that he dedicated to me. That means her dad and I are pretty much best friends. :) We took off back to Idaho at about 1:00pm...and I slept the entire way home...oops. He he! Anyway, Nathan and I truly had a wonderful weekend. It felt so nice to get away and do something different. I'm so thankful that Nathan and I have made such great friends throughout our experience here in Rexburg.

Big thanks to the Jones'
for such a fun weekend...
it was busy...
but I think we kept up!
Get it?

All I want for Christmas...
